Startup opportunity

*Disclaimer* I’m not endorsing the following. I really don’t know anything about this opportunity. A friend of mine asked if I knew any designers looking for work, so I’m passing this along as a courtesy to him. Might be a great opportunity, might not. Good luck.

Start-up Seeking Graphic Designer (Web, Print), Potential Full Time / Equity

Directory Wizards is seeking a highly organized and creative individual to join our team as the Creative Director/Graphic Designer and share in our success. Specifically, we are looking for someone to be responsible for all visual aspects of this company and its projects, including but not limited to areas of branding, web design, print and other advertisement design, and technical implementation of those designs. This position will work jointly with the Director of Marketing and in conjunction with our technical team in order to accomplish our goals.

Having successfully built and operated several businesses over the last decade, we have now started a business focusing on the local communities. Ideally, the right candidate will be in the immediate area, allowing us to meet as a team at least weekly. However, exceptions will be made for the right individual.

Introduction: Scott Tomlinson

I want to say hello and thank Bro. Burgener for letting me know about this resource. I attended “Ricks” from 1993-1994 and again after my mission as a married person from 1997-1998. It appears that I am the old dog on the block in here. I have periodically looked at the main art department pages on the BYU-I site looking for something like this. I hope to contribute some meaningful posts with valuable information. I’ve been out of college in the work field for ten years now and I think I’ve learned a thing or two. I’d much rather contribute to something like this than banter with narrow-minded teenagers on the oceans of “social networking” sites that I keep visiting (for some reason I can’t figure out). So thanks again and you’ll be hearing from me.

Book Recomendations

Hello all,

Here is a question that I have heard several times in the last 2 days.

What books do you think would help me start to understand designing for the web?

I would also add - What websites?

Our First Frohn

I don’t want to turn this into a family photo blog, but I can’t resist this. We had our last ultrasound today. Unfotunately for her, she seems to have inherited my chin. She’s getting big. They said she’s in the 80th percentile for her size. We should see her in a few days.
